R & R

That's right...R & R. Rest and Relaxation.

Last night I sat down on the couch, and I read. For fun. Not because I had to. Not because it was on a "To Do" list. Not because I should do. But because I wanted to and needed to. I read part of a light, laugh-out-loud-kind of funny book. It was lovely!

God knew what He was doing when he rested on the seventh day. He knew that we needed a break from the rigors of everyday life. Thank you, Lord!

Tip to the busy and a note to self: Take time to rest, relax, and rejuvenate yourself!

Which Jesus Do You Follow?

I absolutely love this song by Todd Agnew! It so incredibly challening. Read through the lyrics as you listen to him sing the song and really think about it. I do not want to follow the blue-eyed, curly brown-haired Jesus that we picture. I want to follow the true Christ! This picture of Christ puts a little perspective to Romans 8:29, which says we are "to be conformed to the likeness of his Son."

My Jesus
By: Todd Agnew

Which Jesus do you follow?
Which Jesus do you serve?
If Ephesians says to imitate Christ
Then why do you look so much like the world?

Cause my Jesus bled and died
He spent His time with thieves and liars
He loved the poor and accosted the arrogant
So which one do you want to be?

Blessed are the poor in spirit
Or do we pray to be blessed with the wealth of this land
Blessed are they that hunger and thirst for righteousness
Or do we ache for another taste of this world of shifting sand

Cause my Jesus bled and died for my sins
He spent His time with thieves and sluts and liars
He loved the poor and accosted the rich
So which one do you want to be?

Who is this that you follow
This picture of the American dream
If Jesus was here would you walk right by on the other side or fall down and worship at His holy feet

Pretty blue eyes and curly brown hair and a clear complexion
Is how you see Him as He dies for Your sins
But the Word says He was battered and scarred
Or did you miss that part
Sometimes I doubt we'd recognize Him

Cause my Jesus bled and died
He spent His time with thieves and the least of these
He loved the poor and accosted the comfortable
So which one do you want to be?

Cause my Jesus would never be accepted in my church
The blood and dirt on His feet might stain the carpet
But He reaches for the hurting and despises the proud
I think He'd prefer Beale St. to the stained glass crowd
And I know that He can hear me if I cry out loud

I want to be like my Jesus!
I want to be like my Jesus!
I want to be like my Jesus!
I want to be like my Jesus!

Not a posterchild for American prosperity, but like my Jesus
You see I'm tired of living for success and popularity
I want to be like my Jesus but I'm not sure what that means to be like You Jesus
Cause You said to live like You, love like You but then You died for me
Can I be like You Jesus?
I want to be like you Jesus!
I want to be like my Jesus!

Our Little Yellow House

So here it is! The outside of what will be our house...

The Little Yellow House on the Corner
I am so thankful to have a house to be able to live in right after we get married! It will be so nice to be able to make it ours and to decorate it how we want. I am also so glad that it is so close to church, our parents, and where I work! :)

Also, one of my future nieces!

Snow, snow, snow!!!

Snow, snow, snow, and more snow!

I had to add pictures of the "Blizzard of 2011," as people are calling it. I'm told this was one of the largest snows the Chicagoland area has ever seen.

I had to take some pictures, and of course, I just had to go out and play in the snow! I wasn't out for too long though, because it was cold!
The giant piles of snow on our street.

Me with the street sign that has snow piled half-way up it.

My snow angel.

My little lump snow man.
Soon I will put up pictures of our little house...snow and all!

Welcome

I decided to create a blog. The name of the blog is what I call the house that we will live in after we get married. I plan to talk about things God is teaching me, wedding and house plans, the Anderson family after we are married, or any other random things. Whatever I do write, I would like it to be done for the glory of God!
